PRAY

  1. Speakers next week: Rev. Nahum Ip (Joint Service), Clara Chew (Interpreter).
  2. Missionary John Cuddeford (UBC FOCUS Club): Give thanks for his fruitful ministry at UBC and as the City Director.  Pray for his retirement and the new leaders being raised.
  3. For the Church: Pray for Pastor Will’s father who is in the hospital due to pneumonia.
  4. Pastoral Search: Pray for the Senior Pastor candidate, Pastor Jason Law.
  5. Budget Meeting: Pray for all the ministry departments for their events and budget planning for 2023 this afternoon (November 6th).
  6. Building Project: (a) Pray for the safety of the workers; (b) For the community on Beckwith; (c) Smooth completion of the tasks in progress: HVAC, exterior and interior walls, and electrical works; and (d) The project team brothers as they are all very busy at their own work and families, while working hard to follow up with the contractors as well to control the costs.   1. Community: For COVID-19, pray for the government leaders as well as the essential workers.
  2. World: Pray for the war, people and churches in Ukraine.  Also, pray for the MB Missionaries Maxym and Anya there.  Updates from Missionary Greg Laing: Has returned from Lithuania safely and learned a lot about helping Ukraine refugees.

FAMILY NEWS

  1. Welcome everyone to join our in-person worship.
  2. Pastoral Search Committee has arranged Pastor Jason Law and his family to engage with the church on:

a) November 13th: Share message at Kid’s Worship, and will have fellowship with the Kid’s Ministry Core Team after.

b) November 20th: Preach at Cantonese Worship, and brothers and sisters can join for a fellowship after. Light lunch will be provided.

c) December 4th: Preach at English Worship, and brothers and sisters can have a fellowship after.

Remember to mark your calendar so as to know Pastor Jason and family.  Should any of you have thoughts and comments, please feel free to pass it to the Pastoral Search Committee (Wilson Chan, Steven Lee, Clara Chew, Hilda Wong, May Ng) and Pastor George Siu.  Pastor Jason’s resume is posted on the board.

  1. 2023 Church Budget Meeting: Today (November 6th) at 2:30pm on Zoom.
  2. Next Sunday Prayer Meeting (Nov 13th, 10am): We will have Rev. Nahum Ip to share with us the work of chaplaincy.
  3. Next Sunday Joint Service at 11am. Next joint service is on December 25th.
  4. Missions: The 2022 budget is $42,000.  As of August 31st, the mission offering received was $15,260, $26,740 short of the target.  Pray for the Lord’s provision.
  5. Vancouver Island Short-Term Missions: The date has been changed to November 11th-13th (Fri-Sun).  Give thanks for the participation from the brothers and sisters.  Let’s pray for the preparation stage.
  6. Safety Guideline: For the safety of our church congregation, we will continue to require masks for indoor gatherings.  Thank you for your cooperation.  COVID-19 Safety Plan has been updated.
