PRAY

  1. Speakers next week: Chris Lam (English), Pastor Will (Chinese).
  2. For the Church: For Juliana and Pastor Will – Give thanks that Japan OMF has accepted their application to serve as missionaries.
  3. Pastoral Search: Pray for the Senior Pastor Candidate, Pastor Jason Law.
  4. Budget Meeting (November 6th): Pray for all the ministry departments for their events and budget planning for 2023.
  5. Building Project: (a) Pray for the safety of the workers; (b) For the community on Beckwith; (c) Smooth completion of the tasks in progress: HVAC, exterior and interior walls, and electrical works; and (d) The project team brothers as they are all very busy at their own work and families, while working hard to follow up with the contractors as well to control the costs.   1. Community: For COVID-19, pray for the government leaders as well as the essential workers.
  2. World: Pray for the war, people and churches in Ukraine. Also, pray for the MB Missionaries Maxym and Anya there.  Updates from Missionary Greg Laing: In “Lithuania to visit the MB churches to look into how to add more help with their care of Ukraine refugees.  Pray that we will have the gift of spiritual understanding to see how the North American MB churches can help.”

 

FAMILY NEWS

  1. Welcome everyone to join our in-person/online worship.
  2. Pastoral Itinerary: Pastor George Siu is on vacation October 10th to 30th, inclusive.  You can contact Pastor Will or Deacon Alice Tsung in the meantime.
  3. The Pastoral Search Committee has accepted Pastor Jason Law as the Senior Pastor candidate.  Arrangements will be made for preachings as well as fellowshiping with brothers and sisters in November.  Pastor Jason’s resume is posted on the board.  Please pray for Pastor Jason and family for their safe arrival in Vancouver in early November.
  4. 2023 Church Budget Meeting will be held online on November 6th, 2:30pm.  Department Servant Leaders and Deacons are reminded to join the meeting, with 2023 budget submission by October 30th.  Note: in order to help budget planning, please submit reimbursement claims ASAP.
  5. Vancouver Island Short-Term Missions: Date: November 12th-14th (Saturday – Monday).  If interested, contact Becky Hui.
  6. Safety Guideline: For the safety of our church congregation, we will continue to require masks for indoor gatherings.  Thank you for your cooperation.  COVID-19 Safety Plan has been updated.
  7. EM Online Worship Service: We are planning to suspend the online worship starting November.  Comments are welcome.  Please contact Hilda Wong or Pastor Will.
