PRAY

  1. Speakers next week: Pastor Will (English), Rev. Peter Liu (Chinese).
  2. For the Church: (a) Give thanks for BCMB Pastor Denis Federau and his daughter Rebecca for a successful kidney transplant.  (b) Pray for Andrew Law recovery from surgery after the bike accident and his family.  (c) Pray for Mrs. So (Philip So’s mother) recovery from pelvic fracture after the fall and pacemaker surgery; Pray for Philip and family.  (d) Pray for the Lord’s healing on Jerome & Amy after the car accident.  (e) Allen Lam’s father: Pray for his health and the follow-up.  (f) Pray for Vinson’s physio / rehab, and pray for the family as well.
  3. Pray for the Deacon Candidate: Hilda Wong.  Pray that God-fearing leaders will be chosen by the Lord.
  4. EPIC Camp: Pray for the teens camp on Sept 3rd to 6th at Loon Lake.  Pray for the planning, arrangement and safety and the speaker, Pastor Jon Luesink.
  5. Building Project: Blueprints are completed, and site cleaning and construction starts in August.  Pray for the completion of the project in 10-12 months.
  6. Our Country: Pray for the federal election on September 20th.
  7. Community: Pray for the protection against the COVID-19, and pray for the government leaders as well as essential workers.
  8. National(a) Pray for peace, comfort and hope for those crushed by the devastating earthquake in Haiti. (b) Pray for Afghanistan.

 

FAMILY NEWS

  1. Welcome everyone to join our online worship.
  2. Communion Next Week: Let us prepare our hearts and souls and minds for the Lord.  To observe Communion at home, please solemnly prepare unleavened bread/skyflakes/bread pieces, and grape juice before the service next Sunday.  Here is the link to an unleavened bread recipe: https://www.alyonascooking.com/unleavened-bread-matzah/
  3. Deacon Election this year will be held online.  Eligible voters (active church members, 19 years or older on September 26th) must register for online voting via the following link: https://forms.gle/c73uLBs6xCzrVbDH8.  Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with the deacon nominees’ profile.  Note that the registered name must be identical to the name used for signing in on election day.  Due to the shortage of accepted nominations, the board has decided to decrease the number of deacons for 2022 from 5 to 4.  The existing deacons who will be in the second year of their first term in Year 2022 are: Alice Tsung, May Cheng, and Pearl Lin.  The 2022-2023 deacon candidate is Hilda Wong.  The voting dates are September 12th, 19th and 26th, with voting time 12:30pm – 2pm.  If you have any questions during the voting periods, please contact the Deacon Nominating Committee during the voting time at 604-303-5831.
  4. EM Sunday school classes will resume in person on September 12th at 9:00am.  Please make time to attend.
  5. In-person Worship will resume on September 12th, 11am at McNair Secondary School and with live streaming at the same time.
  6. Missions Weekend (Sept. 17th-19th): God is making a new way to evangelise!  Missions Workshops will be held over Zoom on September 17th (Friday), 7:30pm-9pm.  There will be two Cantonese workshops & one English for brothers and sisters to choose from.  Joint Missions Sunday will be held at McNair (in-person and streaming) on September 19th at 11am, with Pastor Chapman Fu (Vine Church, Alpha HK).  In addition, the Missions Committee is planning for a prayer walk on either Saturday (18th) morning or Sunday (19th) afternoon, if weather permits.  Please mark your calendar.

  8. Prayer Walks: By encouraging support in the church building and care for our community, the church will hold prayer walks.  Brothers and sisters can participate individually or with fellowship and groups.  Please contact William KC Chan at wkcchai@hotmail.com for sign-up or any questions.
